From Manuscript to Market:

The 'Lines in the Leaves' Release Journey

About the Work

Lines in the Leaves is an autobiographical book I wrote to inspire and empower other young creative women by sharing my journey and experiences. Not only did I write the book, but I designed it, ensuring that every visual detail reflected its message! I then used my marketing background to develop a strategic promotional plan.

Content Creation

As a marketer, I know the power of a strong online presence. When it came to getting my book out there, I knew social media was key. I started by really understanding who my ideal reader was, then I crafted content that I knew would resonate with them.

Advertising

Advertising my book required a multifaceted approach, that used both online and offline strategies to reach my target audience. I found that a balanced approach of combining measured targeting with genuine, in-person connections, yielded the best results.

Design

When it came to my books design, I thought about the reader's journey. I knew that readability and a professional layout were essential for a positive experience. With my understanding of design, I made sure every page contributed to a seamless, engaging read.

Social Media

Being both the author and marketer for this project, I leveraged my own social media presence to build anticipation and connect directly with my audience. By sharing behind-the-scenes insights, engaging visuals, and exclusive previews, I created an organic promotional campaign that made the book launch feel personal and community driven.

Web Advertisements

Driven by efficiency, I focused on targeted web advertising to reach my book's ideal reader. Search visibility was key, alongside impactful display ads. This approach created a personal, yet professional, digital experience, connecting my book with the right audience.

Book Design

Book design and layout were crucial in connecting with the right readers. Every detail contributed to the overall perception that I wanted readers to not only enjoy in the narrative, but also appreciate in the craftsmanship and intentionality that went into the book's creation.
